I’ve been reading a lot about the challenges in markets where job requirements are sky-high but the actual support for applicants is minimal. It is incredibly frustrating when you have the talent but can’t seem to get past the initial screening because of formatting or “AI-friendly” rules. Has anyone else felt like the barrier to entry is just getting more expensive every year?

I totally agree that the gatekeeping in modern hiring is reaching a breaking point, especially when you’re fighting against nepotism or a lack of local training programs. It’s way better to take your time and build a strategy that highlights your actual achievements rather than just filling out a template. When your presentation is solid, the entire conversation with a recruiter changes.

I agree that having a clear plan is the only way to avoid wasting money on tools that don’t actually work for your specific industry. I actually found a discussion about cheap resume services last week while I was trying to decide if a budget option was a total scam. It offered some really practical advice that helped me.
