Recently, I started converting my van into a camper, and now I’m looking for a good solar setup. The roof space is limited, and I’d prefer something lightweight that won’t add too much weight. A flexible solar panel seems like a great option, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. Some say they degrade quickly, while others claim they’re just as good as rigid ones. Does anyone here have experience with them? I want something durable, efficient, and weather-resistant. Any recommendations?

That’s a great question! A lot depends on the quality of the panel. Some brands cut corners, leading to premature wear, but if you go with a high-quality flexible solar panel, it can last a long time. One solid option is the Sungold Flexible Solar Panel. It’s built with ETFE material, which makes it more durable and resistant to weather damage. It’s also highly efficient, with excellent light transmittance. Unlike some cheaper models, this one has reinforced layers to prevent cracking, and it’s designed to be ultra-lightweight, making it perfect for camper roofs. Definitely worth considering!

That’s actually useful info. Been thinking about adding solar power to my boat, but I was unsure if flexible panels would hold up in marine environments. If the durability is there, then it might be exactly what I need. Always good to hear firsthand recommendations, especially when choosing between so many options.
