My renovation started with repainting walls and somehow turned into replacing windows too. Every contractor has a different opinion and now I am more confused than when I started. I would really appreciate if someone could recommend a useful read on the difference between single glazing aesthetics and modern double glazing efficiency in restoration projects before I commit to anything.

I went through the same mess with my flat: started “just repainting,” then the old windows came up and suddenly everyone had a different theory. What finally helped was reading up first, because the look of single glazing can matter in restorations, but double glazing usually wins on comfort and heat loss; this read was a good starting point: Uxbridge glass company . After that, I could at least separate “nice to keep” from “actually worth upgrading.”
