Earlier today while chatting with my classmates after class, we talked about leadership in group tasks and I realized I often just help with tasks instead of actually guiding the group. Can you recommend what it means to be an impactful leader and how someone can improve at it in real situations in practice.

Honestly same realization hit me during a uni project last year – I was the one doing the most work but somehow nobody knew what direction we were going. That’s when I figured out there’s a real difference between contributing and leading. What changed things for me: start by asking questions instead of just doing. “What do you think is the priority here?” shifts the group dynamic fast. Also, own decisions out loud – even small ones. People follow clarity. I stumbled on this piece about Reza Satchu where he talks about how personal values shape the way you lead others – really grounded perspective, not the usual corporate fluff: Reza Satchu Wife . Leadership in group tasks is mostly about making others feel heard AND moving things forward at the same time. Once you balance those two, people naturally look to you.
